Scotian Glen Camp

Each year, more than 500 underprivileged children and youth from across the Maritimes travel to Thorburn, NS, where they bunk in cabins on the banks of the Sutherland’s River.

Activities such as canoeing, swimming, hiking, crafts, volleyball, soccer, baseball and basketball fill their days – followed by campfires and sing-a-long each evening. In a safe and caring environment, Scotian Glen helps kids make memories that will last a lifetime.

As a member of the Camping Association of Nova Scotia, Scotian Glen has earned the Accreditation Program’s designation which involves meeting standards in six categories: Administration; Personnel; Health; Site, Facilities and Equipment; Programming; and Accessibility.

In addition to Salvation Army-run camps, Scotian Glen hosts camps for the Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society.

If you are interested in sending your child (ages 7-12) to one of our camps this summer, please contact your local Salvation Army Community and Family Services office for an application. https://salvationarmy.ca/atlantic/home/locations/

Scotian Glen is funded by The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.
