During the winter months heating a home can be a struggle for many. Trying to balance rising food costs, along with other necessities of life such as, clothing and shelter is difficult. MacLeod’s Fuels recognized the need that exists and donated $1,500 to assist families with emergency heating in Cape Breton this winter.

The money will be used for those who do not qualify for the Good Neighbour Energy Fund, but who are in need of emergency heating assistance.

The Good Neighbour Energy Fund is an emergency heating program available to Nova Scotian families who meet the criteria. It runs from January 15 until April 15.

Sydney Corps Officer, Major Kent Hepditch says, "Families are grateful for the help that we provide through the emergency heating program. The winter months are a struggle for many and having this program offers some hope for those in need."

Pattie-Anne MacLeod co-owner of MacLeod’s Fuels says, “As a husband and wife team running a business in a small town for over 20 years, it has certainly opened our eyes to the tremendous need for support in the community. We feel a great sense of pride in our community and we are happy to be able to give something back.”

Thank you to MacLeod’s Fuels for helping us provide emergency heating assistance to those in need.
