Point has given the CD to The Salvation Army with proceeds to go towards the establishment of a recovery house for young women.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The idea came about when the Lieutenant Governor toured The Salvation Army\u2019s Beacon of Hope House inVictoria, an addiction recovery centre for young males. He met with<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Salvation Army following the tour and spoke about the idea of a similar centre for girls recovering from addiction. The Salvation Army took his suggestion to heart and securing funds for the Beacon of Light House is now underway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhen I heard The Salvation Army was going forward with this project, I felt it was important for me to contribute in some way,\u201d said Point. \u201cI had written these two songs and decided to make them available through The Salvation Army as a way to raise awareness about the recovery centre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The Salvation Army is honoured that the Lieutenant Governor places such confidence in our Army to get the job done. His pride in our province and compassion for its people is truly inspirational,\u201d said Major Brian Venables, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations of The Salvation Army\u2019s BC Division.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The disc features two songs, both with music and lyrics by the Lieutenant Governor. The first track, <em>British Columbia<\/em>, features musical arrangements by the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific. The Victoria Good News Choir provides the vocals and the Unity Drummers and Singers provide the drumming. The second track, <em>God, Grant Me a Sign<\/em>, features vocals from the Lieutenant Governor and the Victoria Good News Choir\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Copies of the CD are available by making a donation to the Salvation Army.
