Empowering Young Girls <\/strong><\/p>\n

BRAVE is a catalytic movement whose focus is to empower girls that come from vulnerable situations, with hopes to engage them before they become victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. We aim to reach the most vulnerable and at-risk youth in their areas, to show them we see them, they matter, and we are with them.<\/p>\n

On February 27, 2021, we had Brave Global speakers: Cheryl Neubhard, Danielle Strickland and panel of guests share their message in a video streamed online from Toronto, Ontario to participants across Canada. The girls expressed that the speakers shared stories that were easy to relate to – they were encouraged.<\/p>\n

The event was a great success! 11 Corps hosted Brave events locally with a total of 243 girls attending. The girls felt empowered, uplifted, and special. Each location created a notable experience, which included trivia games, prizes, and gift bags to take home.<\/p>\n

They loved the Brave swag bags and the food we provided! One of the girls expressed that she found the event fun and she\u2019s looking forward to our next zoom call together.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This was the beginning of a connection and relationship with these young girls. Later this Spring, five corps are planning to host more local events in Chilliwack, Trail, Comox Valley, Kamloops, and Victoria.<\/p>\n

Their efforts made all the difference, the impact of the day continued after the event when the Willows Family Life Centre in Langley partnered with the Trinity Western University women\u2019s rugby team and Langley Christian School. The girls from the rugby team were immediately invested in giving back to the community. They donated goods and some members of the team hope to join us for support in BRAVE circles where we\u2019re looking forward to building long-lasting relationships with the young girls. Congratulations to all the leaders and Corps members on creating an unbelievable moment, your achievements made it all significant to the girls.<\/p>\n
