Volunteers are an integral part to every organization and The Salvation Army is no exception. When it comes to running programs and services, our volunteers make it all possible.<\/p>\n

Greg Klazura of the Vancouver Whitecaps Soccer Club, is no exception!\u00a0 Recently he ‘carved’ out some time from his busy schedule to make jack-o-lanterns for Halloween at The Salvation Army Vancouver Community and Family Services.<\/p>\n

Greg hails from Rockford, Illinois and came to Vancouver this past January as a rookie for the Vancouver Whitecaps. He contacted The Salvation Army in March looking for a way to volunteer in his new community.<\/p>\n

Since then, Greg has visited Camp Sunrise in Gibsons, British Columbia for Teen Camp and Holiday Camp, while spending time at Vancouver Community and Family Services through a variety of different activities and opportunities.<\/p>\n

In particular, Greg has befriended two special families through The Salvation Army Vancouver Community and Family Services Single Mother’s Breakthrough Program. \u00a0Often they play ball in the park but with the rainy season once again upon us, they enjoyed a little afterschool fun with pumpkins.<\/p>\n

Soon, Greg will return to the United States but in the mean time, it has been a true delight to have him as a volunteer with The Salvation Army.\u00a0 It is truly inspiring to see young people engaging with their local communities as a difference is made no matter the capacity of the act.<\/p>\n
