Kim Findlay, Divisional Director Development 

Since August 2021, Kim Findlay has led the team of seasoned professional fundraisers at BC Division bringing with him a proven track record of philanthropy and leadership accomplishments in the health, education and social services sectors. The BC Development team is focused on major gifts, planned giving, foundations and capital campaigns. In his personal time, Kim’s passions include running, riding, skiing and spending time with his family.

 

 

 

Carol Barton, Charitable Gift Advisory – Victoria & Vancouver Island

Carol has been with The Salvation Army for 28 years, the last 10 of which she has worked as the Major Gifts & Planned Giving fundraiser on the Island. Prior to that, for ten years, Carol was the Public Relations and Special Events manager in Victoria. And before then she was the church secretary at Victoria Citadel.

 

 

 

Roger Kayo, Charitable Gift Advisory – Metro Vancouver

Roger has been helping donors with legacy planning and estate administration at The Salvation Army since 2018. He has worked for various non-profits including the Crisis Centre, Ballet BC, and UBC’s Law School. In his spare time, Roger likes to swim lengths or bike along the Arbutus Greenway. He’s happily married with two adult children.

 

 

 

 

Michelle Boileau, Major Gifts, Corporate & Foundations Officer

Michelle has been with The Salvation Army since 2018, initially in Public Relations as Manager of Communications & Marketing, and more recently this year found her forever home in Development as Major Gifts, Corporate & Foundations Officer. She has followed her passion and made fundraising her career, working with not-for-profits since 2008. When she’s not working you can find her making friends on any golf course, yoga studio or trap range.

 

 

 

Susan Bains-Grewal, Charitable Gift Advisor

Susan has been working for The Salvation Army on the Development team since March of 2021. Prior to working with us she had roles at The Vancouver Sun and Province working directly with major charities and foundations as her clients. Working with other charities, prepared Susan for working closely with donors to build strong relationships. Her previous work experience, faith and love of people makes the work she’s doing on the development team a perfect match for her. Susan is happily married, and has a 16 year-old son. Susan enjoys yoga, and riding her new e-bike.

 

 

Serena Ratzlaff, Donor Relations Representative

Serena has been with The Salvation Army since November 2020 as a Donor Relations Representative. She comes with over 20 years of experience in Administration and Customer Service.
When she is not working, you can find her spending time with loved ones going for walks or hikes, catching a movie or simply hanging with her cat Lucy.

 

 

 

 

Bill Glasgow, Charitable Gift Advisor – Interior

Bill has worked with The Salvation Army for nine and a half years, the last two as Major Gifts & Planned Giving fundraiser for the B.C. Interior. Prior to that he worked for the Prince George Ministry Unit as Donor Relations & Fund Raising Coordinator. In his spare time, Bill’s passion includes his family, weight training, mountain biking and golf.

 

 

 

 

John Foster, Charitable Gift Advisor

John joined The Salvation Army development team at the start of 2021 to work with donors who want their donations to make a larger impact, with programs and priority projects that align with their philanthropic goals. Coming from 10 years of experience at UBC (the last 5 as Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation), he has extensive experience in a variety of development jobs and is happy to jump in to help wherever he’s needed. John and his partner live next to the ocean in Kitsilano with their Formosa Mountain dog Maya.
