Please join us in welcoming our new Divisional Director of Development at DHQ, Mr. Kim Findlay. Kim comes to us with nearly 30 years of experience in the charitable sector and already is an amazing addition to our team as one of the new faces of the army.

 

What is your experience working with non profit organizations?

I worked over the past 28 years with United Way of the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver College, Canadian Mental Health Association, JDRF, and Meadowridge School.

What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?

Raising funds and awareness for our programs, and seeing the Vancouver Harbour Light project come to fruition.

What has the first number of weeks with The Salvation Army been like?

It has been a real eye opener to start understanding the shear scope and breadth of programs and services The Salvation Army provides across B.C. and Canada.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

An Architect

What’s your hidden talent / little known fact?

I like to design and build things from patios, furniture to kitchens.

Last concert you went to?

Rod Stewart

Favourite movie of all time?

Don’t really have a favorite, but I do like to watch “Miracle on 34th Street” each Christmas.

Famous person you would like to have dinner with (dead or alive)?

Bill Gates

What helped pass the time for you with COVID-19 restrictions?

Working in the yard on landscaping projects.
