The Grand Opening of the new West Kelowna Thrift Store became a realization through the hard work, dedication and patience of Salvation Army staff and the generosity of valued customers and donors in the great community of Westbank. As a result of everyone’s support, The  Salvation Army was able to a grow into a new retail outlet.

The Salvation Army believes in the inherent responsibility to take care of others and give that helping hand up to transform lives.  We been actively involved in the lives of tens of thousands throughout the Central Okanagan since 1919.

As an organization, The Salvation Army has been recycling for well over 100 years. We’re proud to have served in the community of West Kelowna and Kelowna for 95 years. In fact we have a thrift store here in the Central Okanagan for over 50 years.   We believe we have an ethical responsibility to support not only the people of our earth, but the earth itself. The Salvation Army as an organization has accepted responsibility for this world we live in by taking practical steps to conserve it – such as keeping reusable items out of local landfills.

The donations and the monies raised through thrift store operations, help provide resources for our services and programs such as, local after-school and sports programs.

This is a bright beautiful store with extended hours and much better parking options along with providing for a healthier environment for staff to work in and for customers to shop in.  Thank you to all those in Westbank who continue to support the work we do day in and day out in providing hope to those who need it most.
