Donations have been pouring in for victims of Friday’s fire in Uptown New Westminster that left 36 people homeless.

It wasn’t long before they had more than enough. Way more than enough.

The response and support from the community and the City of New Westminster has been overwhelming.  “We have piles of clothes and now we’re bringing in volunteers to sort them,” shared Captain Sharon Tidd of The Salvation Army New Westminster. “The community is really coming to the rescue.”

The Salvation Army was onsite over the weekend providing food and beverages to evacuees and first responders along with emotional support.  Currently, The Salvation Army is collecting financial donations to support fire victims.

Please call 604.299.3908 and specifying your gift to The New Westminster Fire.

The Salvation Army is not collecting clothing or furniture donations at this time.
