The results are in. Salvation Army Thrift stores from coast to coast collected 1,223 shopping carts full of food in their 2012 Open Your Hearts & Your Cupboard food collection campaign!

Thrift Stores began collecting donations of non-persishable food items on October 8 to support local Salvation Army Food Banks. After 12 weeks of unwavering energy, enthusiasm and hard work, combined with generous support of food donations from local businesses, schools and community groups, they exceeded their goal of 1,000 shopping carts.

Not only did the campaign surpass its goal, it positively influenced and rallied communities across Canada to support The Salvation Army’s efforts to feed countless families in need over the Christmas season and well into the New Year!
