As cases continue to increase and more people are in self-isolation, The Salvation Army is stepping up to help by delivering food bank boxes to individuals and families in need.

“One client asked for food help after his two toddlers tested positive. Since the family is in isolation, we arranged for a volunteer to do contactless drop-off,” explains Jan Keats, community family services coordinator. “We are doing everything we can to help.”

Since the pandemic began, The Salvation Army has quickly shifted the way we operate to follow health and safety guidelines while meeting the increased needs in our communities. This includes meal preparation, food bank delivery and more. Now into the third wave, The Salvation Army is working to develop a plan to help families in isolation.
