Salvation Army Aids Homeless with Towels

It’s just another way of restoring dignity to homeless men. The Salvation Army’s Maxwell Meighan Centre in Toronto’s downtown core is providing descent-sized, warm bath towels to residents through its “wrap someone in love” campaign.

The centre, which delivered services and beds to more than 127,000 clients last year, provides personal, everyday items to its residents. Towels currently purchased by the centre are 20 x 40 inches (slightly smaller than most towels), are thin and a basic white. Supplies empty out quickly.

“I am expecting that many clients will keep the donated towels,” says Major Chris Dickens, Executive Director. “A small thing can make a big difference.”
