Sally Ann Campaign Kicks Off

The familiar sound of bells ringing echoed throughout the New Sudbury Centre on Thursd ay as the Salvation Army launched the annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.

Capt. Tony Kennedy, area commander of the Salvation Army, said the money raised from the campaign “supports our ministry throughout the year.” The local campaign goal is $175,000. Last year, the campaign raised about $158,000.

Kennedy said the money raised from the campaign is used for food, shelter, clothing, transportation, medication, presents and sometimes, to help pay utilities for families in need. The money “is used in the community, for the community.”
