Rotary Food Bank Drive to Help Stock Shelves

Grande Prairie – Last year, volunteers in the annual Rotary Food-Bank Drive brought in 140,000 food items to replenish the Salvation Army Food Bank.

The September 18th drive gets started at 5 o’clock with teams meeting at the D-Coy Armories — that’s where maps and other supplies are doled out.

Organizers hope they see those kind of numbers and the enthusiastic participation from the community again this year.

Ken O’Shea chairs the food drive: He believes people who need the food bank cut their grocery spending to pay other bills.
