Opening the Door to Hope, Thanks to You
Imagine for a minute that you are the proud grandmother of several beautiful grandchildren. You are 82 years old, and you consider them the most wonderful blessings in your life.
Now imagine that you live in a drought-ravaged region of Kenya and your grandchildren face the very real dangers of starvation.
Meet that loving grandmother: Sabina
“I solely depend on my son, who works as a herder and has four children. I’ve lived with them since their mother passed away,” explains Sabina. “My son works for daily wages herding, but these are challenging times.”
Thanks to your generosity, The Salvation Army was able to provide them with much-needed food and support. “Many times, I have found myself burdened with questions. How would my grandchildren survive the drought without food? In the hour of need, The Salvation Army came to our assistance and brought us food. The relief project has enabled me to feed my grandchildren and myself,” Sabina said.
Thanks to the generosity of Salvation Army donors, Sabina’s family is receiving desperately needed food and hope. Now, The Salvation Army is able to continue helping families in this drought-scarred region receive the support they need.
