Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The General Warehouse worker is to receive, sort, and pack donations for The Salvation Army which includes continuous standing, bending and lifting of up to 30 pounds (occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent

- Maintain confidentiality

- The ability to work independently

- The applicant must be able to contribute as a team player, projecting a positive, professional, and helpful attitude

- The capability to systematically organize

- Proven written and oral communication skills

- A valid driver’s license with clear driving record

- The ability to model the values and standards of The Salvation Army

NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receive gifts and clothing from various agencies and the public

- Sort clothing, furniture, and other stock responsibilities

- Continuous standing, bending, and lifting

- Lifting up to 50 pounds + (with assistance)

- Occasional transport of product using a Salvation Army vehicle

 

Working Conditions:   One year contract

  • Must be available to work weekends (every 2nd weekend)
  • 8:30am to 5:00pm / 40 hours per week
