Hours:

  • Sunday-Thursday
  • 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

Position Purpose Summary:

The Program and Intake Worker will work with the Residents of Grace Mansion in all areas of personal development and growth, life skills, social and spiritual activities to enable the Resident to attain their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor resident occupancy levels
  • Monitor move-in and move-out of residents
  • Create new client files, interview prospective residents and callers, and collect required documentation for intake of residents to ensure Program criteria are met
  • Perform reference checks for prospective residents
  • Perform intake of new residents
  • Perform orientation for new residents of the Salvation Army Grace Mansion programs
  • Supervise/monitor actions and interactions of residents during shift
  • Respond to all resident questions/requests within the framework of Policies & Procedures
  • Work with assigned residents in completing personal development plan (PDP), and following up with resident(s) at intervals to assess, monitor and adjust PDP as may be required.

Qualifications

  • Be a mature individual, who is committed to the mission of Grace Mansion.

 Education/Certifications:

  • Completion of Secondary School.
  • Training / Certification in Addictions or Mental Health issues
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR
  • WHMIS 2015
  • FoodSafe Level 1
  • Universal Precautions

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months prior related experience in working with clients in a residential setting

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Computer skills and training in Word and Excel

OTHER CONDITIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful obtainment of clearance through the Criminal Record Check under the Criminal Records Review Program
  • Successful obtainment of clearance through The Salvation Army Child Abuse Registry

 

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Completion of our online Training and required Health and Safety training
