HOURS: 35 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting store sales budgets by maintaining customer service standards
• As directed by the store supervisor implement store layout, plans to attract customers including window displays and merchandise displays; ensures attractiveness of the store through “Tidy Maintenance”
• Replenishes inventory levels based on supervisor’s directions
• Opens and closes store
• Processes donated household items by unloading, sorting, packing, and price donated items based on supervisor’s directions
• Sorts donated clothing by judging the condition of items, hang and prices good condition clothing, take boxes of off season clothing to storage room
• Contribute to the control of inventory by rotation of store items
• Contribute to the safety of staff and customers (e.g., snow removal, clear fire exits, no obstacles inside and outside store, cleans spillage, and maintains store cleanliness including sorting room, office, and storage room)
• Operate cash register/interact transactions accurately
• Record and provide the store manager with the end of day reports
• Look after the day to day Houston store operations and responsibilities
• Book appointments for food bank clients
• Performs other duties as assigned by Store supervisor or by the Bulkley Valley Ministries Director

Qualifications

• Completion of High School (an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)
• Up to three (3) months of prior related experience including life skills
• Computer skills needed (Microsoft Office, word, Excel)
