Position Purpose Summary:
Thrift Store Clerk is one member of a team of individuals who sees the day to day operations of our thrift store. The clerk is responsible for the general cleaning, sorting of donations, and customer service of running the till.
This will be a one year contract position with 40 hours per week. Shifts are Tuesday to Saturday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for sorting and pricing donations
- Assist with quality control
- Customer Service: answering phone, customer inquiries, concerns etc. as needed
- Operate cash register/Interac Machine as required
- Assist with the counting of money and preparation of bank deposit, as needed
- Active participant in “Tidy Management” (general tidying-up of the store and work area)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- Training will be provided
- Able to communicate efficiently & effectively with customers and co-workers
- Physically fit, energetic & good co-ordination (position requires frequent bending, twisting, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.

- Must have a positive attitude and pleasant personality
- Able to lift 25lbs, and will be provided training to lift heavier loads with assistance.
