Position Purpose Summary:

To assist the Corps Ministry Unit to achieve its objectives for the main fundraising program, Christmas Kettle Campaign, in support of the work of the Community and Family Services Ministry.

Position Purpose Summary:

To assist the Corps Ministry Unit to achieve its objectives for the main fundraising program, Christmas Kettle Campaign, in support of the work of the Community and Family Services Ministry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares Kettles and materials for next day
  • Make calls to book volunteers
  • Solve emergency no shows and last minute cancellations
  • Stand on kettle when necessary
  • Seek volunteers and workers to monitor the kettle
  • Forward and follow through with any complaints or concerns from public, volunteers or workers to the Kettle Coordinator
  • Assists with the pickup/drop off of kettles
  • Receive and respond to telephone calls from volunteers or general public
  • Assists with the Completion of timesheets as required/needed
  • Assist with the pick-up and exchanges of Kettles as required
  • Ensure Kettle Kits have required PPE supplies and information at all times
  • Visit various Kettle locations to monitor recruits and answer any questions
  • Complete and forward reports to Kettle Coordinator

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) + years of experience in volunteer coordination
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented setting
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet
  • Knowledge of available resources in the community
  • Able to work in compliance with The Salvation Army Mission Statement
  • Comfortable working in a Christian environment with the ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion
  • Previous experience working with staff and volunteers
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:

  • A clear Criminal Record Check
  • Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually

HOURS: Up to 20 hours per week as needed
