Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist the team in the planning and implementation of the virtual day camp program. This includes (but is not limited to) creating videos demonstrating Bible lessons, organizing crafts, and other activities, assembling and distributing program supplies to families in the community
  • Connect with community families and children and promote program
  • Assist in training and orientation of Virtual Camp Leaders
  • Other duties as assigned. Could include: Cleaning and organizing supplies etc.
  • Uphold all health and safety regulations
  • Work cooperatively with the Corps Officers, church staff and volunteers in all aspects of the program
  • Open and/or close the facility

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must meet the requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Program
    • Between 15 – 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  • Able to work within a Christian atmosphere and to promote the goals of the program and the mission of the Salvation Army
  • Organized, hardworking, dedicated and creative, and possess leadership qualities
  • Experienced in working with children 
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Zoom)
  • Able to work well independently and as a team player 
  • Standard First Aid and CPR an asset
  • Valid driver’s license an asset

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:

  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually

HOURS: up to 24 hours per week
