Position Purpose Summary:

To assist the Corps Ministry Unit to achieve its objectives for the Christmas Kettle Campaign in support of the work of the Community and Family Services Ministry.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Kettle Coordinator/Corps Leaders
  • Be the “Face of the Salvation Army” (be a positive, professional representative); making connection with potential donors and showing up to shifts in a clean, presentable manner consistent with The Salvation Army values and standards
  • To stand and attend the kettle for the duration of the shift
  • Report to all scheduled shifts on time and notify the Kettle Supervisor of any scheduling issues
  • Collect donor’s information when a request is made for a charitable tax receipt

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for 2- 4 hour shifts
  • Excellent time management, communication/interpersonal skills
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Possesses good customer service skills – friendly, courteous, positive, patient
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Possesses good oral communication skills
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Follows the dress code and be well groomed
  • Able to provide own transportation to work location

HOURS: Up to 20 hours per week. Variable, day time, evening and Saturday shifts available
