Responsibilities

  • Report to Summer Day Camp Director
  • Assist main music teacher in distribution and collection of music
  • Monitor and supervise children during sign in and sign out, track attendance, and supervise children’s activities; ensuring their health and safety at all times
  • Setting up and cleans up before and after class
  • Promote an environment of openness, freedom of communication, collaboration and positivity
  • Maintain order and organization of scheduled activities (indoors/outdoors), classrooms; ensuring that rules of the classroom, building, and equipment owned by The Salvation Army are understood and followed by all students

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must meet the requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Program

 

    • Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the time of intake/selection                                                                               
  • Good music knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
  • Ability to work with children from a variety of backgrounds
  • Excellent time management, organization skills (multi-tasking, working well under pressure), communication/interpersonal skills
  • High school student – preferably major in music

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:

  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring

HOURS: 30-35 hours per week
