Salary Range: $36,465.00 -$45,571.50 annually / 37.5 hours per week

 

Responsibilities

  • Reads and understands financial statements; verifies correctness and resolves issues in timely manner; performs variance analysis monthly
  • Provides update on financial stability of the unit to management team
  • A/P: collects, verifies, codes, and approves invoices for payment; collects, codes and processes PHH and Visa statements
  • A/R: collects, tracks, codes, deposits, sends to WRAC a report on incoming funds (rents/donations in cash and through POS)
  • Prepares donation tax receipts and thank-you letters to donors.
  • Petty Cash: distribution, monthly reconciliation, coding and submitting for reimbursement to WRAC.
  • Requests bank withdrawal for CRF allowances
  • Summarizes and submits CRF monthly invoices to WRAC
  • Maintains records: A/P, A/R, government contracts
  • Payroll: acts as a backup for department managers, calculates and requests final pay, resolves pay issues, calculates/verifies paid leave entitlements and seniority.
  • Takes a lead in internal budgeting process and compiles budgets for government funders in required format
  • Prepares cheque requests
  • Liaises with WRAC, Audit teams, Accreditation Teams, DHQ, THQ and government funders on financial matters and assists with action plan/follow-up (including preparation of rent subsidy)
  • Understands and follows TSA policies, BCGEU collective agreement, government contracts
  • Administration of gift cards
  • Prepares or recommends adjusting journal entries to correct accounting errors
  • Monitors cash flow and 90 days' working capital requirement and takes action as necessary to address issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • One year but less than three years of prior related experience, including accounting office and accounting software experience.
  • The successful job applicant will have completed an Undergraduate University degree (e.g., B.A., B.Sc. B.Sc.N.).
