HOURS:

  • Monday thru Saturday 7:00pm – 9:00 pm
  • November 16, 2020 thru December 24, 2020

Responsibilities

Position Purpose Summary:

Job Purpose: The Security Worker is responsible for the security and safety of the Christmas Kettle drop-offs.

 

BASIC FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Makes scheduled rounds of inspections, checks safety/security, monitors premises
  • maintains an atmosphere of calm, providing an unobtrusive presence
  • Maintains logbooks and completes occurrence reports
  • Understands and is aware of emergency/disaster procedures and follows through
  • Liaises with referral sources and other external agencies as needed (e.g. police, parole, urgent situations)
  • Ongoing enforcement of policies, which may include client discipline or recommending banning of current or prospective clients
  • Meets visitors/volunteers and directs and accompanies them as necessary
  • May handle kettles containing donations in accordance with policy (a secondary person always present)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education Level Attained: The successful applicant will have completed Public School plus specialized courses.
  • Minimum Prior Experience:  The successful candidate must have up to twelve months’ prior experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS/capabilities:

  • Some security experience will be an asset

 

The incumbent must take the following precautionary measures (in addition to health and safety rules):

  • Universal Precautions
  • Hepatitis B Shot
  • Wear safety shoes

Wear gloves & PPE following all COVID safety protocols

 

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
