• TERMS : Regular, Full-time (72 hours bi-weekly)
• DAYS & TIME : 2 week rotation.
• Week #1 : Tuesday to Saturday Evening Shifts (1530-2330)
• Week #2 : Tuesday to Friday Evening Shifts (1530-2330)

Responsibilities

Position Purpose Summary:
Rotary Hospice House is a community that honors’ life, values humility, and shares hope. As an RN, you treat all residents, volunteers and staff members with respect and courtesy. You regard the dignity and best interests of each resident, recognizing that she/he has a right and an obligation to take responsibility for personal actions and choices. You are expected to fulfill your RN obligations and responsibilities with integrity, and perform every duty in a conscientious, diligent and efficient manner.

• Assumes responsibility for the delivery of care for each resident, ensuring that all personal and nursing care is provided in accordance with the mission of The Salvation Army, agency, regulatory and established ethical guidelines and requirements.
• Monitors the treatment regime and health status including physical, emotional and psychological needs to ensure the safety and well-being of the resident.
• Performs nursing care to residents including administering prescribed medication and treatments, and observing, recording and reporting symptoms and changes in resident condition.
• Carries out established procedures to prepare facility’s equipment and supplies.
• Provides caring environment to residents and families including facilitating participation of resident and family in care plans.
• Maintains pertinent records and ensures all documentation is accurate and complete. Maintains strict confidentiality of information with regard to residents and families. Documents in writing and in electronic health record and e-Mar.
• Participates in professional development opportunities to maintain current knowledge and practice.
• Maintains relationships with all external health agencies, professionals and the community.
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or equivalency.
• Registration with the Registered Nurses Association of BC.
• Experience:
• 1 to 3 years’ related work experience.
• Direct experience in hospice/palliative care preferred.
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
• Background check consent
• A clear vulnerable sector screening
• Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
