Position Purpose Summary: The purpose of this position is to assess and supervise clients who are on the court ordered bail program

 

Responsibilities

  • Attend bail court
  • Liaise with court officials, Crown Attorney’s, police and defense lawyers
  • Interview clientele and inmates at provincial detention facilities and Barrie Courthouse
  • Fill out verification forms and verify information
  • Keep all necessary supervision records, case notes and statistics
  • Meet standards as required by the Attorney General and the OABVSS
  • Assist clients in crisis
  • Assist clients with information on the judicial process and on community support

Qualifications

  • Diploma in the social services field with experience in Correctional & Justice Services
  • Ability to adequately provide counsel and support to bail clients
  • Provide quality supervision
  • Computer skills in word, excel and data bases
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of The Salvation Army, its Organization, terminology and Mission Statement
  • Vehicle an asset
  • CPR/First Aid and CPI an asset

Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:

  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually

HOURS: 20 hours per week, schedule to be outlined by Bail Program Manager
