The Kettle Coordinator ensures the smooth running of the kettle campaign, maximizing donations and coordinating volunteers.

This is a temporary full-time position with up to 40 hours per week from November 9, 2020 - January 8, 2021.


  • Recruit, train, direct and work alongside kettle workers
  • Schedule kettle workers on the kettle program (computerized), ensuring all kettle locations are covered daily
  • Expected to work in cooperation with Community Ministry Coordinator
  • Ensure kettle locations are kept well-stocked with COVID-19 supplies
  • Delivery of kettles to all locations and pick up of kettles at end of day
  • Work flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
  • Perform other related duties as required


Minimum Education Level Attained:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Criminal Background Check

Minimum Prior Related Experience:

  • Experience in office administration
  • Experience with Microsoft excel, Microsoft Word
  • Experience with general office equipment

Physical Effort/Dexterity Required:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment of light to moderate weight in winter conditions will be required

Concentration Required:

  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced office setting

Responsibility for Financial Resources:

  • Manages donations and their safe transport to unit

Responsibility for Human Resources:

  • Initial and primary point-of-contact for all kettle workers
  • Responsible for tracking hours and schedules for kettle workers

Work Environment:

  • Working in office space
  • Frequent travel within city in winter conditions will be required
  • Work schedule may impact life (weekends, evenings)
  • Works on call

 Exposure to Hazards:

  • Frequent travel within city in winter conditions will be required
  • Working in the outdoors with cold weather
