Position Purpose Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assist the Kettle Coordinator with drop off and pick up of Kettles and other campaign duties.
This is a part time, fixed-term position at 20 hours per week.
Start Date: November 13, 2024
End Date: December 24, 2024
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Kettle Coordinator with:
- ensuring kettle stands/equipment are at designated locations when needed
- ensuring kettle supplies are well stocked – candy canes/literature – ready to be distributed
- ensuring kettles are brought to Citadel after last shift of each day
- keeping records of volunteers, locations, and hours of volunteers
- arranging for the delivery and pick-up of kettles to assigned locations
- training and scheduling of volunteers
- daily cash deposits
- with being on-call evenings and Saturdays to manage cancellations or other situations
- Assist with volunteer recruitment as required
- Give “friendly” reminder calls to volunteers
- Following campaign, assist to retrieve all equipment at site locations
- Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs
- Ensure security of donations received
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
*NOTE: You may be required to provide validated educational documentation.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Some high school coursework
- High School Diploma is an asset
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
- Up to one year of related experience or working in customer service

Skills and Capabilities:
- Understanding and support of the mission and standards of The Salvation Army
- Willingness to wear Salvation Army identification
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Valid Driver’s License & Clean Drivers Abstract
- Have or willing to obtain a criminal background check
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 – 25 lbs)
