Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building for daily operation of The Salvation Army Williams Lake Thrift Store.


  • Part-Time Permanent,
  • 8Hrs/Week


  • Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance procedures for building and related equipment; recommends repairs and purchases as required
  • Performs a number of minor repairs and duties in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting; reports safety concerns and major repair issues (e. furniture and fixtures)
  • Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, doors; dusts, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuums
  • Checks, cleans, moves, arranges and dusts furniture, shelves as required
  • Ensures the general upkeep of external property such as keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice, cleaning main floor outside windows, picking up litter, sweeping sidewalks
  • Checks doors and windows to ensure building security; provides access to the facility and secures the facility as needed
  • Reports safety concerns and repair issues (e. furniture and fixtures)
  • Scrubs and sanitizes washroom facilities
  • Restocks washroom supplies and distributes received material as required
  • Spot washes accessible walls, shampoos carpets as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • The successful job applicant will have completed High School.
  • WHMIS Certificate


  • Up to six months of prior related experience, including previous cleaning experience and familiarity with cleaning supplies and maintenance procedures.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
