Janitor
Description
The Janitor maintains the cleanliness of the facility, property, and or grounds in compliance with applicable standards.
- Terms: Casual, On-Call (0-40 hours/week)
- Days and time : Applicants must be available for a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Number of vacancies: 1
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, dusting, collects and disposes of garbage, vacuums
- Checks, cleans, moves, arranges, and dusts furniture as required
- Checks doors and windows to ensure building security
- Reports safety concerns and repair issues (e.g. furniture and fixtures)
- Restocks washroom supplies
- Spot washes accessible walls, strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpet
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- The successful job applicant will have completed Public School.
- WHIMIS Training
- First Aid/CPR
Experience:
- Up to three months of prior related experience, including previous cleaning experience and familiarity with cleaning supplies and procedures.
Other Conditions:
- Successful obtainment of clearance through The Salvation Army Child Abuse Registry
- Successful obtainment of clearance through the Criminal Record Check under the Criminal Records Review Program
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean drivers abstract.
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
