POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:

As a local expression of The Salvation Army in Canada, Broadview Village has 40+ years of providing outstanding support to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges, and we are currently hiring a Full-time Business Services Coordinator to help support all of our programs. This position reports to the Business Manager and currently works full-time at 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM as noted below (some flexibility will be occasionally required). The primary location is at North York, with regular travel to our Toronto campus and occasional travel to our Islington campus.

This position requires someone who has extensive computer and software skills (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access & Outlook, as well as Quickbooks and general website navigation), proficiency as a user of general office equipment (photocopiers, computers, networks, etc.). This position requires someone who is a highly reliable self-starter that can be counted on to complete assignments with outstanding level of attention, to detail and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have the capacity to work collaboratively and provide excellent customer service.

 

 

 

 

 

This position is responsible for recording/reviewing accounts payable and receivable transactions/ deposit entries, maintaining AR sub-ledger system(s), preparing & adjusting journal entries, validating tax allocations, account reconciliations and follow up. Proper judgement and analysis of controls and processes is necessary in order to ensure the integrity and accuracy of related processes. In addition, the incumbent will respond to client/vendor inquires and provide support to other Broadview Village staff as required. The incumbent will be encouraged to identify and recommend process improvement and document processes within their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable and employee refund processing
  • Accounts Receivable/Deposit processing
  • General Ledger analysis, reconciliations, and drafting adjusting entries
  • Administration and Reporting

Qualifications

  • Completion of a university degree or college diploma in accounting or business, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting/finance including reconciliations, cash handling, and receivable processing
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

The successful candidate will also be required to provide/achieve upon hiring:

  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
  • NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) Certificate
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate

LOCATION: North York (DVP/Lawrence) with travel to Toronto and Islington.

HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional flexibility will be required)
