Responsibilities
Position Purpose summary:
The Family Monitor provides supervision for children to visit with their non-custodial parent in a safe, secure, child-focused, and neutral setting. Supervised Access is a multifaceted program that offers an important service to families in Frontenac and Lennox and Addington counties.
Qualifications
- Ability to work within the context of The Salvation Army and adhere to the organizational vision, mission statement and values
- Diploma/degree in social services from an accredited university/college; social work, early childhood education, family and youth preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in the field
- Understanding of domestic violence and the issues related to family separation
- Experience with child-centered interventions
- Effective communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
- Standard CPR and First Aid + infant
- Updated CPIC
- Valid License and access to a vehicle
- Priority will be given to candidates who are bilingualHOURS:
Thursday through Sunday, evenings and weekends
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
