Environmental Supervisor
Description
Under the direction of Operations Manager, the Environmental Supervisor coordinates, cleans and helps supervise staff to ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained within the Victoria ARC. Due to contractual obligations, applicants must be at least 19 years of age.
HOURS:
- 37.5 – Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 4:00PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Operations Manager in providing oversight to the Environmental Department
- Monitors cleaning duties to ensure all areas of the Victoria ARC and ARC assets are accounted for and a high level of cleanliness maintained.
- Assists the Operations Manager with scheduling staff, while keeping account of employee’s timesheets
- Ensures staff safety in compliance with Health & Safety Standards; prepares and submits incident reports
- Trains cleaning staff as needed
- Performs cleaning duties
- Monitors operation of related equipment, recommends repairs and purchases as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum two years of prior related experience including one year of experience in a supervisory role
- Must be able to follow instructions, both verbal and written, work co-operatively with others, and complete to a satisfactory level all assigned tasks
- Requires incumbent to be computer literate to access emails
- Occupational First Aid and Infectious Disease Control training are required within six months of starting position
- Must produce a copy of a negative result T.B. skin test
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to Odors
- Exposure to chemicals
- Handling garbage
- Moving objects
- Dealing with sharp objects
- Requires lifting up to 25 lbs.
