  • Full Time / 37.5 hours per week.


Driver Duties:

  • Ensures the safety and security of the vehicle, clients and goods transported
  • Takes responsibility for daily and overall safety, maintenance, operation of vehicle, & records of such
  • Performs circle checks of vehicle/s and maintains vehicle logs
  • As an initial point of contact, represents The Salvation Army effectively by providing clients/residents and vendors with courteous and diplomatic service
  • Plans daily route and maintains scheduled pick-ups; ensures transport to and from appointments is completed as scheduled
  • Maintains knowledge of legislative and company policies such as Health & Safety Regulations, Provincial and Municipal highway traffic acts
  • Obtains receipts for gasoline expenditures and submits for payment
  • Promptly reports to the supervisor all accidents involving the vehicle, personal injury and/or other damage
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • The successful job applicant will have completed High School, plus specialized courses of up to six (6) months. NOTE:  An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • The  incumbent must have the following experience before hire: One year but less than three years of prior related experience Must have valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license. A driver’s abstract will be required.
  • Must be able to follow instructions both verbally and written
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others


Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Immunization for Hepatitis B
  • Vaccination against Tuberculosis
  • WHMIS training
  • Current Certification in First Aid/CPR
  • Criminal Police Investigation Check (CPIC)
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
