Description

HOURS:

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Divisional Director Employee Relations, the Advisor acts as a business partner to leaders in our 56 locations in B.C. and provides overall strategic HR leadership to managers, employee relations colleagues and employees throughout the division.  This position will provide direction and guidance in leave management to the operating units in the BC division, in consultation with support departments at our national headquarters in Toronto. Other duties may include employee relations (including investigations under our harassment policies, and policy/legislation/collective agreement interpretation), job evaluation/compensation, manage participants’ eligibility and enrollment in benefits, health and safety and training.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • University degree specializing in Human Resources; or degree plus diploma/certificate in Human Resources
  • CPHR or CHRL certification is preferred

 

Experience:

  • One to three years working experience in Human Resources field, with expertise in leave management (including WCB) preferred

 

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must be able work in a team environment and have the ability to work on multiple team projects at one time
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with HRIS systems
  • Excellent communication, customer service, problem solving and ability to work under pressure
  • Able to complete administrative tasks without hesitation
  • Attention to detail
