Contract Term: November 12 to December 24, 2021

Campaign Hours:  Monday – Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign
  • Set up and prepare count room for daily functions prior to Campaign start date
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are on hand and ready for use
  • Daily handling of donations in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Monitor counting and reconcile all donations on a daily basis
  • Consolidate and prepare all donations for bank deposit on a daily basis
  • Arrange and tidy the count room daily for the following day
  • Report all concerns to the Christmas Kettle Coordinator on a daily basis
  • Provide a daily Campaign total to Christmas Kettle Coordinator on a daily basis

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working in customer service
  • Related experience an asset

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

  • Supervisory and accounting/banking experience an asset
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor and organizational information
  • Willingness to be flexible and make adjustments as necessary
  • Respect and understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army
  • A Criminal Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required
