Responsibilities

The Community Ministries Worker provides leadership of community based ministry programs in accordance with Salvation Army mission, values and standards. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is exemplified in the performance of all job responsibilities and through personal example, prayers, spiritual guidance.
  • Interviewing clients and assesses each client’s needs, recommends programs and services to the clients, provides Salvation Army programs to the clients and refers the clients, when necessary, to other agencies plus coordinates volunteers and clients with the Food Bank and tracks statistics for CMS
  • Coordinating the implementing of new program plans such as, but not limited to, ALPHA, Messy Church, VBS, Parents and Tots Group, Baby Song, Ready to Serve, Family Sports Outreach for Teens, Family Friendly Movie Night, Seasonal Celebrations (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc) Kids Summer Camps, Feed My Lambs, WeCan and the Christmas Kettle Campaign
  •  Some evenings and weekends including Sunday worship required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of 1 year of Community College/Bible College or equivalent
  • Must be able to adhere to Salvation Army policies and principles and wear Salvation Army ID
  • Special Certifications: Current Certification in First Aid/CPR
  • Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills
  • Provide a successful Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Have own transportation, provide a copy of Driver’s License & current Driver’s Abstract

EMPLOYMENT TERM:

  • Regular Full time position
  • 70 hours biweekly.
  • Hours: Fluctuating schedule-flexibility will be required
  • Posting Closing date: January 22, 2019
  • Proposed Starting date: February 5, 2019
