It includes program coordination, communication and supervision of staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Here's how you will contribute to the program:

  • Leading and managing the Christmas Program within the mission and values of The Salvation Army
  • Implementing program components and providing program and administrative direction
  • Coordinating program communications (written, phone and email)
  • Ensuring all donations are received, recorded, disbursed and secured/stored as per policies and guidelines
  • Attending all internal meetings, as required
  • Completing documentation including evaluations, statistics, weekly/monthly reports and the annual outcome report
  • Reacting quickly and appropriately to problems; following up in a timely manner to issues that are not immediately resolvable
  • Recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and supervising employees and volunteers for the Christmas Program

Qualifications

Here are highlights of the requirements you need to get an interview:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (An equivalent combination of education, training & experience may be accepted.)
  • At least 3 years of related experience, including working with volunteers and marginalized people, as well as working knowledge of inventory control & marketing/public relations. Project and/or event management experience is an asset.
  • Experience scheduling and supervising more than five staff
  • Thrives on getting results despite a large workload, competing demands and working in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Access, Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Able to lift 40 pounds and stand for long periods at a time
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check, at own expense, and Child Intervention Check
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR certificate, valid Driver’s License and 3 year Driver’s Abstract
