  • Temporary, Full-time positions (Nov. 15, 2020 to Dec. 24, 2020)
  • Varying from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM (Flexible hours may be required)
  • Up to 40 hours per week


Position Purpose Summary:

Salvation Army Kettle Campaign raises funds to feed, clothe and provide community for individuals and families in need of support all year long. The Kettle Supervisor ensures the Kettle Campaign runs smoothly, while maximizing donations and coordinating employees and volunteers.



  • May assist in the recruitment of Kettle Hosts (employees and volunteers)
  • Provides support with orientation and on the ground care of day to day operations
  • Helps coordinate the schedule for kettle hosts and responds to emergency absences, etc.
  • Fosters and maintains positive and encouraging working relationships with kettle sites and addresses conflicts/issues as they arise
  • Delivers and picks-up kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations
  • Hosts at kettle stands, as required, to ensure necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
  • May assume responsibility for coordinating kettle counters
  • Record statistical data and prepare weekly timesheets, as required, for local/divisional/territorial offices
  • Performs other duties as assigned

NOTE:  Not all Kettle Supervisors perform all the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.



  • High School Education (an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)
  • Agrees to undergo a Criminal Record Check
  • Valid BC driver’s licence and clean drivers’ abstract from ICBC


  • Up to 3 months of prior related experience, particularly experience working with customer service-related fields
  • Previous experience as manager, supervisor or equivalent, in a corporate or non-profit setting
  • Previous experience scheduling and overseeing multiple employees/volunteers

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude and treats our neighbours, volunteers, employees and donors with respect and kindness
  • Possesses exceptional organizational skill
  • Possesses leadership and communication skills in directly supervising full-time kettle hosts, part-time kettle hosts, and/or volunteers (varies depending on the number of kettles)
  • Proven ability to multitask
  • Be able to work with a team consisting of staff and volunteers in a busy and fast paced environment
  • Frequent transporting of kettle stands, regular driving and occasional hosting at kettle stands
  • Be able to perform moderate lifting (40 lbs) and physical labour for long stretches
  • Proficient computer skills


PREFERRED SKILLS/capabilities:

Preferred skills include: Manager, Supervisor or equivalent

*Must have a functioning car and cellphone


Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening
  • A clean drivers’ abstract
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Prevention Training and required Health and Safety training
