Position: Christmas Kettle Campaign Coordinator

Facility: Saint John Hope Community Church, Community & Family Services - 36 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB

Purpose:

The Kettle Coordinator ensures the smooth running of the Kettle Campaign, maximizing donations and coordinating staffing (volunteers).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Own pre-season preparations – organizing and calling sites, ordering supplies, creating schedule, etc.
  • Recruit new and touch base with past volunteers for Kettle stands
  • Ensure training of volunteers re: the divisional standard for Kettle workers
  • Coordinate the kettle counting team; they count the monies received, and complete the deposits- including rolling of coin
  • Populate and oversee schedule for Kettle stands and staff
  • Ensure Kettle sites are adequately staffed, host a kettle, when needed, to maximize coverage of kettle station.
  • Arrange for distribution and pick up of Kettles at appropriate stations
  • Ensure kettles are ready for opening at beginning of shift
  • Arrange for pickup of Kettles and monies and return all kettles to the office for securing at end of day
  • Arrange bank runs with another staff to complete a bank deposit on a daily basis
  • Keep accurate record of staffing and monies collected
  • Assist in the completion of necessary reports to Divisional Headquarters

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ability to model the values and standards of The Salvation Army
  • Ability to lift 40lbs.
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Possess’ a valid Driver’s License

This contract runs from October 1st, 2019 through December 24th, 2019. (12 week full time position.)
