Description

Work Hours:

  • Temporary – November 13, 2019 to December 24, 2019
  • Up to 10 hours per week, flexibility with work hours/schedule is expected.
  • Work will require working weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Working with a small team coordinating all aspects of the 2019 Christmas Kettle Campaign
  • Provide support to the kettle volunteers
  • Recruit, train, and schedule kettle workers and volunteers
  • Work with list of volunteers, clubs, churches, and businesses to assist in filling volunteer positions
  • Updates and distributes Kettle volunteer schedules
  • Assists with Moneris machines and training workers and volunteers
  • Prepare detailed daily Kettle counter reports
  • Assist the Kettle Coordinator and Community & Family Services Coordinator in making presentations to groups, organizations, service clubs, churches, and businesses to assist in filling volunteer positions
  • Make bank deposits as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Willingness to adhere to the Mission Statement of and the values of The Salvation Army
  • Enthusiastic team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and experience in public speaking
  • Previous fundraising and supervisory experience, and volunteer experience will be an asset
  • High standards of integrity, judgment and confidentiality
  • Strong decision-making, organizational skills and a strong team player
  • General office skills and experience, familiar in using various office equipment
  • Proficiency on various computer programs; Microsoft WORD, Excel, spreadsheets, database
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines and cope with stressful situations
  • Agreeable to a flexible, non-routine schedule, and willing to work long hours including weekends
  • Knowledge and interest in the programs and services this campaign supports
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
  • Must obtain a Criminal Record Check in accordance with Criminal Records Review Program
