Responsibilities

Here's how you will contribute to the program:

  • Assisting with supervising, training and scheduling of volunteers, to ensure optimum coverage
  • Assisting with all aspects of toy hamper inventory, packing, storage, picking up and receipting of toy donations
  • Assisting with planning and execution of volunteer recognition event
  • Facilitating smooth operation of the Warehouse in the absence of the Christmas Toy Program Coordinator
  • Ensuring the warehouse is clean, tidy, and safe at all times
  • Monitoring toy recalls
  • Performing other related duties that interface with program objectives and the mission of The Salvation Army

Qualifications

Here are highlights of the requirements you need to get an interview:

  • Mature self-starter requiring minimum supervision
  • Minimum of Grade 12 and experience in working with volunteers, warehouse processing, goods distribution and lifting guidelines
  • Current government approved Standard First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organized multi-tasker who enjoys and works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Forklift license is an asset

  • Temporary Full Time position – Until October 18 and after December 14, works Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00 pm. Starting October 18 until December 14, works Monday to Friday 2:30pm to 9:30pm plus Saturdays 12:30pm to 9:30pm.
