Here's how you will contribute to the program:

  • Provide general administrative support to the various programs and departments operating within the Family Resource Centre, as well as support of all the general special events
  • Prepares and distributes agendas, takes minutes and distributes minutes for general meetings and event committees
  • Supervise reception staff, volunteers and students. Ensuring reception is covered during all business hours and appropriate work is assigned
  • Purchasing office and other general supplies
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash. Accept and receipt donations and other income
  • Coordinate room bookings for meetings, interviews, appointments, and special events. Liaise with external renters to ensure all rental documents are completed
  • Handling and ensuring the protection of extremely confidential and sensitive information
  • Preparing and maintaining reports, statistical information, and departmental records, as assigned
  • Making decisions on routine and urgent administrative matters


What you need to get an interview:

  • Completed up to two (2) years of Community College preferably in Business Administration. An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable
  • Previous administrative assistant experience; in a Non-Profit Organization would be an asset
  • Knowledge of community resources would be an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and work efficiently against deadlines
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check
  • Willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army, work in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner

Regular Full time 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm)
