The Salvation Army’s 29th annual Santa Shuffle is just around the corner. On Saturday, December 7, 2019, and in 37 cities across Canada, participants will lace up their shoes for the 5K Fun Run and 1K Elf Walk that raises funds for local Salvation Army programs and services.

“My first Santa Shuffle with my family was an exciting, fun and rewarding experience,” says Kelly Bozdog, who participated for the first time last year. “It was great to see hundreds of people coming together in the spirit of Christmas to help those in need.”

Funds raised from this family-fun event support Salvation Army programs that range from adult day programs for seniors to winter street outreach for those experiencing homelessness to life-skills programs for newcomers and Christmas presents for low-income children.

“The Santa Shuffle isn’t your typical race,” says Angela Rafuse, national race director of the Santa Shuffle. “People of all ages and skill-sets come dressed in creative festive attire for a day of fun to help support struggling individuals and families and their community. The energy of the event is contagious. Everyone is so happy to take part and support The Salvation Army.”

This year, the Santa Shuffle is featuring a new element—refund registration.

“When participants raise more than $100 online before November 1, 2019, they will receive their registration fee refunded on their credit card.”

In the past 10 years, and in partnership with Running Room Ltd., the Santa Shuffle has raised more than $5.8 million dollars for The Salvation Army. To participate in your local Santa Shuffle, register online at SantaShuffle.ca
