Poverty isn’t always easy to see, especially at Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, last year The Salvation Army helped over 1.9 million people in need. Here are some ways you can support those who are struggling.

Donate Online

One in 10 Canadians continue to live in poverty. Your contributions allow The Salvation Army to help low-income individuals and families year-round with the basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing and shelter. Click here to donate.

Host an Online Kettle

The Salvation Army’s Christmas kettle campaign is our largest fundraising drive of the year. By hosting your own online kettle you can encourage your friends, family, neighbours and co-workers to donate to The Salvation Army. Click here to register.

Gifts of Securities

People who own stocks, bonds or mutual funds are happy when their investments increase. Unfortunately, when you convert your investment to cash, the capital gain is taxable. By directly donating your publicly listed securities to The Salvation Army, you will pay no capital gains tax on their increase in value. Click here for more information.

Gifts of Hope

The Salvation Army’s Gifts of Hope program offers a variety of items that make a huge and lasting difference in the lives of some of the most marginalized people in the world. Click here to view the catalogue.
