This time of year can be challenging for many reasons. That\u2019s why The Salvation Army offers a wide-range of programs throughout the cold winter months to assist Maritimers struggling with homelessness, heat insecurity, winter clothing and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jack Frost Outreach Program, Halifax<\/b><\/p>\n

The Salvation Army\u2019s Jack Frost Outreach Program provides hot drinks and a warm meal to people experiencing homelessness in Halifax during the winter months. On Wednesday evenings, Salvation Army volunteers set-up on the corner of Spring Garden Rd. and Grafton St. from 5:00 P.M. \u2013 7:00 P.M and distribute hot drinks and a warm meal. Centre of Hope Men\u2019s Shelter, Halifax<\/b><\/p>\n

The Salvation Army\u2019s Centre of Hope in Halifax provides a 40-bed shelter and transitional housing facility for men experiencing homelessness. During the cold winter months, this program is vital for those in need. Guests at our shelter receive a safe place to sleep, three meals each day and access to life-changing resources. Outreach Centre, Charlottetown<\/b><\/p>\n

In Charlottetown, The Salvation Army operates a warming and outreach centre for those who are in need of a warm place to go during the day, including those experiencing homelessness. The centre is open seven days a week and also offers support services. Learn more<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smith Lodge, Charlottetown<\/b><\/p>\n

The Salvation Army\u2019s Smith Lodge provides shelter for people experiencing homelessness on P.E.I. The 20-bed transitional complex offers a safe and warm place for those who need it the most. Learn more<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The HEAT Fund, Nova Scotia<\/b><\/p>\n

The Home Energy Assistance Top-up (HEAT) Fund helps Nova Scotians in need with added expense of home heating during the winter months. For over 20 years, this program has helped keep thousands of individuals and families across Nova Scotia warm during the winter. Learn more<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Home Heating Program, Prince Edward Island<\/b><\/p>\n

In partnership with the Government of PEI, The Salvation Army helps Islanders with the added cost of heating their homes this winter through The Home Heating Program. The program provides assistance for the following heat sources; oil, wood, electric, wood pellets, and propane. Learn more<\/a>.

Community Family Services, Maritimes<\/b><\/p>\n
