Thanks to the combined efforts of the Government of Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia Power\u2014along with generous contributions from employees and customers\u2014the HEAT Fund provides assistance to more families each year. The Salvation Army administers the HEAT Fund in Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do I qualify?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You may apply to the HEAT Fund if: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You live in Nova Scotia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your household has not received HEAT Fund assistance in the last calendar year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are experiencing an emergency heating situation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You live within the following income thresholds:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$29,000 for single-person households<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$47,703 for 2-4 person households<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$67,937 for households of 5 or more individuals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Documents and personal information needed for the application include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heating source receipt or bill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of income (including child tax benefits)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heating supplier name and account number<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The HEAT Fund will remain open starting January 12, 2026 and will continue until funds are depleted. Approved applicants will receive one-time assistance of up to $400, depending on the amount required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do I apply?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please complete the application form below.
