The Salvation Army’s Canadian Staff Band to play in Nova Scotia later this month

    The Salvation Army Canadian Staff BandMusic and The Salvation Army go hand-in-hand. Come enjoy the pinnacle of this collaboration later this month, when The Salvation Army’s Canadian Staff Band makes a pair of stops during a quick weekend tour in Nova Scotia.

    The band was formed in 1969, and is comprised of Salvation Army officers and staff from the Toronto area. The band regularly tours throughout Canada and internationally, living up to its reputation as one of the finest examples of brass band playing in the country.

    The first stop will take place on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Halifax Citadel Community Church, located at 1327 Barrington Street. Tickets cost $8 for single admission, or $15 for a pair. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Contact the church at (902) 422-3621 for more information or to inquire about tickets.

    The band will then head to Yarmouth to participate in celebrations honouring the 125th anniversary of The Salvation Army in that community. The band will perform a concert at the Yarmouth Community Church on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. (a free-will offering will be taken). The band will also perform during church service on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m., followed by a march to the waterfront for an open-air concert, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
