Calgary

Christmas Kettle Campaign | November 16 – December 24 
Help us reach our $1 million goal this year by donating at a Kettle at one of our many locations across the city, or if you can spare a few hours at a kettle, please sign up to become a bell ringer at tsacalgarykettles.com. Volunteers must be 16 years of age, or accompanied by an adult. Volunteering is a great way to introduce helping others to your kids or grandkids! Kettle donations stay local so that we can provide year-round programs and services that help transform lives here in Calgary.

Toy Hamper Registration
All people needing assistance must first call the Christmas hotline at 403-410-1158 for an intake appointment. The line is open M-F 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturdays 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Toys are available for kids 0-14 years old.

Toy volunteers
Anyone looking to help with toys can sign up to volunteer at TSACalgarytoys.com.

Adopt-a-Family
Families looking to be adopted this Christmas can call the Christmas Hotline at 403-410-1158 to receive more information.

Christmas Food Hampers
Food hampers can be requested through the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank by calling 403-253-2055.

Santa Shuffle | December 1
Help fight poverty one step at a time at our annual 5K Fun Run and 1 K Elf Walk! The race starts at 10 a.m. at Eau Clair Market on Saturday, December 1st. Register your team today at SantaShuffle.ca start collecting pledges!

 

Edmonton

Help us reach our $550,000 goal this year by donating at a kettle at one of the many locations across the city (cash, debit, or credit accepted), or online at FillTheKettle.com. Thousands of volunteer hours will also be needed to reach this goal, so if you can spare a few hours for a kettle shift, please visit yegkettles.ca. Volunteers must be 16 years of age, or accompanied by an adult – a great way to introduce helping others to your kids or grandkids!

Adopt-a-Family registration | October 22 – December 7
This program allows you to receive, or provide a family in need a Christmas they would not otherwise have. To register for the program, or if your family, office, or organization would like to sponsor a family, contact Karen at 780-474-4324.

Festival of Carols | December 8
We are proud to present our 21st annual Festival of Carols this year at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton! Bring friends, family, and your singing voices for this annual free Christmas concert. Free tickets are available by calling 780-412-2736 or emailing events_ab@can.salvationarmy.org.

 

Red Deer

Christmas Kettle Campaign | November 15 – December 22
Our annual Kettle campaign needs your help! We have 1400 2-hour Kettle shifts to fill, so if you have a few hours to spare ringing the bells to help us provide year-round programs, we would love to hear from you at 403-346-2251 – ask for Debbie. Kettle donations can be made in person with cash, debit, or credit, or online at FillTheKettle.com.

Adopt-a-Family | November 13 – December 12
This program anonymously matches sponsors with families or seniors (60+) in need, providing toys for kids 0-18 (if 18, must be in high school still), a gift for seniors, and a Christmas dinner food hamper or gift card. If you are in need of assistance, or would like to become a sponsor, please call 403-346-2251.

Volunteers must be 16 years of age, or accompanied by an adult – a great way to introduce helping others to your kids or grandkids!

Christmas Hamper Registration | November 5 – December 14
Register between 1-4 p.m. at The Salvation Army office. Please bring:

  • Photo I.D. for all adults in the household
  • I.D. for any children (i.e. Health Card)
  • Proof of residency (utility bill or lease)
  • Proof of income

Christmas hamper distribution will be December 18 & 19

Join us at 1 p.m. on Christmas Day – all are welcome!
